The first company in the Conglomerate, Brackman Administrators, was established in 1998. Its primary service was to trace and obtain payment on delinquent accounts handed to various Attorneys before legal action was taken against the Debtors.
In an effort to increase its turnover Brackman Administrators applied for a contract to do collections for a major furniture group and was successful.
The work for the Furniture Group escalated through word of mouth about our collection success to such an extent that it was decided that a separate company was needed to handle the Furniture Group Collection.
Thus JJ Harmse and Associates was established in 2006 to concentrate on the Retail Industry, and to do Debt Collection for Furniture Stores, Including doing Voluntary Surrenders in line with the New Credit Act.
JJ Harmse and Associates quickly moved to the front in the Collection Field for the Furniture Group. We became the best in Gauteng for collections in the first three months, and the best in the Country for collection within six months. We are still one of the best collections companies in the country.
Upon request from our clients in 2014 to open a branch in KZN, the decision was made by directors to use this opportunity as a springboard for our empowerment initiative and open a sister Company for the clients in KZN.
Thus Ubunye Debt Collectors were established. Ubunye Debt Collectors was assisted to take the first steps into the Collection field by drawing expertise from the other companies in the group.
The JJ Harmse Group of Companies has three distinctive, but totally unique Debt Collection Agencies. With today’s technology it is possible for us to do Collections Country wide and in Brackman Administrators case even International Collections.
All three Debt Collection companies and its respective collectors are registered with the council for debt collectors.
All three companies are Debt Collection Agencies, but that is where the similarity stops.
